


To re-deploy the latest installer, use the process of redeploying MSI described below. The Teams client will auto-update when it detects a new version is available from the service. MSI files can't be used to deploy updates. If a user already has the Teams app installed in the %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Teams folder, the MSI installer skips the process for that user. Whenever a user signs into a new Windows user profile, the installer is launched and a copy of the Teams app is installed in that user's %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Teams folder. The Teams MSI places an installer in %SystemDrive%\Program Files\Teams Installer on 32-bit Windows and %SystemDrive%\Program Files (x86)\Teams Installer on 64-bit Windows. How the Microsoft Teams MSI file works PC installation If you try to install the 64-bit version of Teams on a 32-bit operating system, the installation won't be successful and you won't receive an error message. All DoDEA staff will have access to Microsoft 365 by the end of School Year 2020-21.Install the 64-bit version of Teams only on 64-bit operating systems. Education staff and students can continue to access Google. Microsoft 365 installations have no connection to nor impact on Google access or availability. Those who lost Outlook access over the summer may have had an emergency release of desktop applications, which also provided access to. Check the Implementation Roadmap (Timeline) to see when Microsoft Outlook online will be implemented. Since the first implementation phase of Microsoft 365 does not include Outlook online (email nor calendar nor contacts), you will not be able to use the Calendar function within Teams. Outlook/Calendar Limitations: In the initial Teams desktop installation, no other Microsoft Office 365 desktop apps will be installed.
